Biography

Jürgen started his career as sound engineer and music producer in early 1991. While studying Electric/Electronic engineering at Stellenbosch University (1991 – 1995) he also played guitar for various bands including Ark, Magic Blue Box, Another 48 Hours, 2-Man Acoustical Jam and Arkeology. During this time the South African music industry was on a downside. Very little infrastructure was available for up-and-coming original bands. This led to Jürgen starting a home recording studio for the purpose of doing demos for his band Ark. At the end of 1995 his hobby turned into a professional venture and Sunset Recording Studios was born. Jürgen and Sunset Recording Studios soon became popular among local Stellenbosch and Cape Town bands and artists. 12 Years later their client base has grown to a national and international level with credits on more than 150 albums.
